Last Friday, I gave an internal Techtalk at Axial discussing my experience with WordPress. As part of the discussion, the question of which plugins I use came up.
So, I decided to share the list of plugins that I use. All of them should work without having to modify your theme and/or WordPress installation:
- After The Deadline: Adds a contextual spell, style, and grammar checker to WordPress. Allows you to write better and spend less time editing. It even finds errors that the built-in Chrome spell-checker misses.

- Akismet: Used by millions, Akismet is quite possibly the best way in the world to protect your blog from comment and trackback spam. It keeps your site protected from spam even while you sleep. So far, it has an accuracy rate of 100%

- Facebook Social Plugins: If you want to allow people to easily “Like” your content on Facebook, then use this plugin. It provides a Facebook social plugins as widgets and adds a Like button in articles. You can even specify where it should appear.

- FD Feedburner Plugin: Feedburner allows you to keep track of the number of RSS subscriber your blog has. This plugin will redirect all your RSS feeds to a Feedburner feed. You can create a Feedburner account here.

- Google Analytics for WordPress: This plugin makes it simple to add Google Analytics to your WordPress blog, adding lots of features, such as custom variables, automatic click out and download tracking.

- TweetMeme Retweet Button: Similar to the Facebook plugin, this plugin will add a “ReTweet” button which easily lets your visitors retweet your blog posts. This plugin is a must if you want your visitors to share your content on Twitter.

- WordPress SEO: WordPress SEO is one of the most complete SEO plugin that exists today. It incorporates everything from a snippet preview that helps you optimize your page titles, meta descriptions and keywords to XML sitemaps, and loads of optimization options in between.

Am I missing any good ones? Please share your favorite plugins in the comments section.
